Increasing your chances for success... safely.

At NORCAL Advanced Laparoscopy, we’re dedicated to delivering the safest possible surgical care and the best possible results. That’s why we prefer and utilize the most advanced, minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures... instead of traditional open surgery.

The laparoscopic advantage.

Actually, there are many advantages to laparoscopic surgery over traditional surgery. First and foremost, laparoscopic surgery is performed through much smaller incisions (1/4- to 1/2-inch in length). Smaller incisions mean smaller, less noticeable scars and greatly reduced chance of infection. It also means a much shorter recovery period. Instead of spending months recuperating, most of our patients recover within days or weeks. They enjoy a faster return to work and daily living and a better quality of life. In addition, our laparoscopic procedures are performed with the newest high-definition technology for greater surgical precision and better outcomes.

NORCAL Advanced Laparoscopy was the first U.S. center to have an American Society for Bariatric Surgery preceptorship in 1999. Using advanced techniques, Dr. Patching and Dr. Grinberg can perform virtually any procedure laparoscopically, including:

  • Adrenalectomy Splenectomy
  • Tumor resections • Stomach resections
  • Benign & malignant tumors
  • Anti-reflux, anti-heartburn, Barrett’s esophagus/fundoplication
  • Bariatric weight loss surgery with Roux-en-Y, sleeve gastrectomy & Lap-Band®
  • Liver & gallbladder problems
